WET POLISHING

The process of wet polishing is a common technique utilized to achieve a shiny surface on hard materials like granite that are frequently used for kitchen countertops. This technique involves the use of a specific type of circular polishing pad that features a pattern of indentations similar to a spider’s web. These indentations serve as channels to direct the water over the surface while polishing.

To achieve optimal results, wet polishing is conducted using a handheld buffer that rotates at a high number of revolutions. While it is technically possible to achieve similar results by hand, it would be impractical due to the amount of time it would take. It’s also important to note that the high-speed rotations involved in wet polishing are likely to spray water onto nearby surfaces.
