FULL OVERLAY

A full overlay is a type of cabinet door that covers the entire face frame of the cabinet. This design ensures that there are minimal gaps between the doors or drawers, which limits the amount of the cabinet’s storage area that is visible. When a full overlay cabinet door is closed, it rests completely on the cabinet opening, creating a seamless look. This type of door does not take up any space inside the cabinet, which can be a concern with other door styles like half overlay or full-inset doors. Full overlays can be used with both face-framed and frameless cabinets, and they are commonly seen with five-piece doors, although flat wood or paneled coverings are also available.
