FRETSAW
A woodworking tool known as the fretsaw is used by carpenters to create intricate cuts. The term “fretsaw” typically refers to a handsaw, although in some areas it may also be used to describe a scroll saw. This handsaw is ideal for making very fine and delicate cuts, particularly smaller curves. Despite its unusual appearance with a deep frame, the blade of a fretsaw is relatively shallow compared to other saws. To help use the tool correctly and prevent damage to the wood, carpenters may use a fretsaw table. This type of table allows the wood to be clamped in a way that accommodates the unique shape of the fretsaw. Some carpenters prefer to use an electric version of the fretsaw, which is commonly known as a scroll saw. Although the blades on both saws are the same and serve similar purposes, they operate using different mechanisms.
