END PANEL

An end panel serves as a decorative surface that covers the exposed end of a top or base cabinet run to create a more aesthetically pleasing look. This is especially useful for cabinets that terminate at a doorway or kitchen entrance where there is no wall to conceal the rough substrate of the cabinet frame or sides. End panels are designed to mimic the inlay pattern of the cabinet doors for any particular run, or to portray a compatible variation to signify it as a decorative piece.

Although end panels do not have a functional or structural purpose, they are essential in enhancing the overall appearance of cabinetry. Typically made of solid wood, end panels are manufactured to conceal the interior secrets of the cabinet construction. The incorporation of base moldings or corbels used throughout the cabinetry should also be included in the end panel’s design to create a cohesive look.
