WALL SKIN

A wall skin is a type of wall treatment that can enhance the appearance of a room. Typically, wall skins consist of thin veneers of wood that can be easily attached to walls to create a wood paneling or Wainscot effect. They are also commonly used to achieve a modern aesthetic by incorporating metal or other industrial textures.

In a kitchen, a wall skin can be used to extend the backsplash to cover the entire kitchen wall. Some wall skins have a three-dimensional texture to create a natural rock appearance, but additional steps, such as painting and plastering, may be required to complete the look. Wall skins can also refer to vinyl stickers used to decorate a wall with images. However, underneath the wall skin in most kitchens, a drywall or rock board is still required to meet fire safety standards.
