JIGSAW

The jigsaw is a power tool that is preferred for cutting non-linear shapes and edges. It is a handheld tool that features a thin blade and a controllable throttle trigger for variable cutting speed. While a jigsaw can be used to cut straight lines in materials, it is not typically the best tool for this job. Instead, it is ideal for cutting intricate shapes and curves that are small enough to be cut by hand.

However, the blades of a jigsaw can be a limiting factor. The small and thin blade can easily bend or snap, making it important to change the blade when switching between cutting metal or wood. The vibrating movement of the jigsaw can also be difficult to control, particularly for inexperienced users, which may result in damage to the project material or the blade. To ensure efficient cutting, it is best to apply light forward pressure so that the blade has adequate time to cut through the material.
