CONCEALED HINGE

Concealed hinges, also known as “European Style” hinges, are hinges that are hidden within a cabinet door to create a seamless appearance. They are designed to provide a smooth, uninterrupted surface to the outer appearance of a kitchen cabinet run. Concealed hinges have several advantages beyond their aesthetic appeal. They allow for easy adjustment of the cabinet doors after installation, and the hardware does not need to be removed to remove the doors.

There are three main types of concealed hinges: full overlay, half overlay, and insert. Full overlay hinges, recognized by their straight-arm design, are the most commonly used type in kitchen cabinetry. Insert hinges are often used in display cabinets with glass doors. Concealed hinges provide improved security, easier clean-up, and eliminate the need for a visible frame, while adding the ability for self-closing cabinet doors.
