BUTT DOOR

Butt doors are a type of cabinet door arrangement where two doors open towards each other. In addition to this, the term may also refer to a set of double doors that lack a center stile. This type of door configuration is commonly used in rows of cabinets where the doors of adjacent cabinets open towards each other. By leaving a small space of around 1/8″ between the doors, the homeowner can enjoy more standing space while also making it easier to store larger objects. Butt doors are especially useful for smaller cabinets as they do not have a center stile that could reduce the opening size, allowing larger items to be easily stored inside. Butt doors can be found in various areas of the home, including kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms, and can be incorporated into vanities, bridge cabinets, and other small storage spaces.
