BASE END SHELF

A base end shelf is an open shelf located at the end of a row of cabinets beneath a countertop. Although not a common feature in all kitchens, base end shelves can be used to add extra storage space or a decorative touch to the kitchen.

Unlike a base end cabinet, a base end shelf doesn’t have a door to conceal its contents. Base end shelves are designed to fit either the left or right side of the cabinets and are typically shallower than regular shelves to prevent obstructing the walking space near the cabinets.

Base end shelves can be used to store decorative items like bowls or collectibles, as well as frequently used kitchen items like spices, timers, and utensils. They are typically made of the same materials as the rest of the cabinets in the kitchen and match the same finish.
